Transparency is a core part of how we work, which is why we share our pricing openly from the start.
Our fees reflect the expertise, responsibility, and attention to detail required to ensure cosmetic products meet the regulatory requirements of the European Union and the United Kingdom. Regulatory compliance is not simply an administrative task, it is a structured process that helps protect consumer safety, safeguard brand reputation, and support long-term market access.
When you work with Taobé, you are investing in accurate, reliable, and carefully documented regulatory support. We focus on clarity, precision, and long-term compliance, helping you avoid unnecessary risks, costly delays, and unexpected issues later in your product’s lifecycle.
This page is designed to give you a clear understanding not only of the cost of our services, but also of the expertise and responsibility behind them. Our goal is to provide full transparency from the start, so you can make an informed decision about whether Taobé is the right regulatory partner to ensure your brands long-term success in the EU and UK markets.

A key part of the cosmetic product registration process is establishing the toxicological profile of each ingredient within the formula. This scientific evaluation is a central component of the product safety assessment. For this reason, registration pricing is primarily determined by the number of ingredients in the formulation.
The prices listed apply to the full regulatory registration of a single product in one market, either the European Union or the United Kingdom.
If the same product is registered in both markets, an additional fee of €100 applies for the second market.
Products that share the same base formula, or that are offered in multiple fragrances or shades, usually require a more limited additional assessment. In these cases, pricing is adjusted accordingly and evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
If a CPSR and Product Information File already exist, Steps 1 and 2 are replaced by a CPSR/PIF audit (400€, fixed fee) to verify that the documentation meets regulatory standards.
Preferential rates may apply to product variants (e.g., products sharing the same base formula, or available in multiple shades or fragrances).
Please note that this overview is illustrative rather than exhaustive.
A formal quotation is provided once the product’s specific characteristics have been reviewed.
Every member of the Taobé team — whether scientific or non-scientific — is highly qualified, multilingual, and specialised in cosmetic regulatory compliance across the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Together, our team brings:
Cosmetic regulation is not a secondary service for us. It is the core of our expertise and the focus of our daily work.
We support brands navigating regulatory requirements across multiple markets, ensuring that each product is supported by the scientific evaluation, documentation, and regulatory precision required for safe and compliant market access.
Cosmetic regulations in the European Union and the United Kingdom are highly technical and structured. Our role is to simplify this complexity into a clear, rigorous, and predictable regulatory process, without ever compromising scientific or regulatory standards.
Over time, we have developed a methodology that makes regulatory compliance accessible for product teams who are not regulatory experts, while still maintaining the depth and precision required by the regulations.
To achieve this, we have:
Our objective is not to “simplify” the regulation, but to master it. This approach enables your products to reach the market efficiently while remaining fully compliant throughout their lifecycle.
For prestige beauty brands, compliance must be as robust as marketing. We ensure that both can progress with the same level of precision and attention to detail.
Registration fees cover the complete safety and regulatory assessment required before a cosmetic product can be placed on the European or UK market.
This process includes:
Once completed, the registration allows the product to be placed on the following markets:
Registration is typically a one-time service, provided that the product remains unchanged.
If key elements of the product are modified — such as the formula, packaging, manufacturer, or labelling — the regulatory file must be reviewed and updated to ensure continued compliance.
This phase represents the most technically demanding stage of the regulatory process, requiring advanced scientific evaluation and deep regulatory expertise.
Once a product is confirmed to be safe and compliant, a Responsible Person (RP) must be appointed to legally represent the product on the market.
The Responsible Person must be established in the EU-27 (for EU coverage) or in the UK (for UK coverage) and assumes legal responsibility for the product throughout its time on the market and for ten years after.
This includes:
Because this responsibility exists for as long as the product is marketed, the RP service is billed as an annual fee.

For Taobé to act as the Responsible Person (RP) for a product, we must either have completed the full regulatory registration or have conducted an audit of the existing CPSR and Product Information File (PIF) to ensure that the documentation is complete and compliant with regulatory requirements.
EU Responsible Person coverage includes:
EU-27, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland, and Northern Ireland.
UK Responsible Person coverage is provided as a separate service and includes:
England, Scotland, and Wales.

Registration involves extensive scientific evaluation and detailed regulatory documentation. For this reason, it represents the most technically demanding stage of the compliance process and is priced accordingly.
Responsible Person services, while legally essential, primarily focus on regulatory oversight, monitoring regulatory changes, and officially representing the product throughout its time on the market. Our Responsible Person fees are therefore structured to remain stable and predictable year after year.
When reviewing different quotations, it is important to understand how these services are structured.
Lower registration fees may sometimes reflect a more limited level of scientific evaluation, while higher annual Responsible Person fees can significantly increase the long-term regulatory cost of maintaining a product on the market.
A pricing structure that appears attractive in the first year may therefore become considerably more expensive — and potentially more complex — over the full lifecycle of a product.
Cosmetics certification provides verified proof that your products meet specific quality, ethical, or environmental standards. It helps build consumer trust, improves brand positioning, and can be required for accessing certain markets or retailers.
Some certifications, such as the Free Sales Certificate, may be mandatory for international trade. Others — like vegan or plastics-free — are voluntary but add credibility and marketing value. We’ll help you determine what’s necessary and beneficial for your product line.
We assess your product ingredients, manufacturing process, and target markets to recommend the most suitable cosmetics certifications. Whether you’re focused on sustainability, animal welfare, or regulatory export, we’ll guide you toward the right option.
Requirements vary by certification, but generally include your full product formulation, packaging details, and manufacturing information. Don’t worry — we’ll walk you through everything you need.
Timelines vary. Free Sales Certificates may be issued within 2 to 3 business weeks – depending on the availability of the officials in charge of the signature – while others like vegan or environmental certifications may take a few weeks, based on the reactivity of your suppliers. We’ll provide a realistic timeframe after reviewing your application.
